Probably in Territorial Army. During WW1 became Sergeant in "A" Company (Boston), 4th Battallion, Lincolnshire Regiment. 138th Brigade, 46th Division. Biletted in Ware, Herts where he met Nellie Hills. Wartime occupation was as a motor driver.
Wounded during a charge on 13th Oct 1915. Spent time in a London Hospital.
Believed to have worked as a bus conductor after the war.Died in 1923 probably as a result of his injuries or possibly as a result of later gassing.
